The Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses have received a new multimodal update

The Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses have received a new multimodal update that allows them to report historical information about landmarks, share the backstory of objects, and provide scientific explanations. Mark Zuckerberg, demonstrated the capabilities of the glasses in a series of Instagram clips. The glasses can identify landmarks, such as the Big Sky Mountain in Montana, and provide detailed information about them. They can also answer scientific and factual questions, potentially positioning them as a walking digital encyclopedia.

The glasses, which are currently in their beta stage, respond to questions in a semi-monotonous voice, designed to help the wearer understand each word clearly. The AI glasses can also mimic sounds, as demonstrated when asked to explain the snow process like a caveman.

The Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses were first unveiled as Ray-Ban Stories in February 2023. They have evolved to include AI features, improved audio and cameras, and over 150 different custom frame and lens combinations. Unlike other AR headsets, the Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses are designed to be worn like regular eyeglasses, making them lightweight and wireless.
