Zac Posen Appointed as Creative Director for Gap Inc.

After two decades of acclaim in the fashion industry, particularly for his exquisite gowns, Zac Posen became a household name in womenswear. His 2019 announcement of the shuttering of his House of Z label sparked curiosity about his future endeavors. Now, Posen is poised for a comeback, having been appointed the new creative director at Gap Inc. (NYSE:GPS -0.95%).

Posen’s re-entry into the fashion world marks a shift back to mainstream retail, building on his previous experience at Brooks Brothers from 2014 to 2020. In his latest role, Posen is set to spearhead the creative vision for Gap Inc.’s four brands, collaborating closely with CEO Richard Dickson. He will particularly concentrate on shaping the design, marketing, and merchandising strategies for Old Navy in his capacity as chief creative officer.

Richard Dickson expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m thrilled to welcome Zac Posen, one of America’s most celebrated designers, at the onset of an exciting new chapter for Gap Inc. His technical expertise and cultural insight have been instrumental in advancing American fashion, and his talents are perfectly aligned with our company as we strive to reignite a new era of creativity across our portfolio and breathe new life into our iconic brands.”

With Posen at the creative forefront, Gap Inc. anticipates a transformative journey that will revitalize the company’s presence across all brands and ready-to-wear (RTW) categories.
