Paramount is currently working on Tom Cruise’s Top Gun 3

Tom Cruise appears to be continuing his involvement with Top Gun. Following the success of Paramount’s Top Gun: Maverick, the studio has once again enlisted co-writer Ehren Kruger for the sequel to the action hit.

Paramount is hoping that director Joseph Kosinski will return to helm the third film in the series, with the studio also expecting the return of Cruise’s younger co-stars, Miles Teller and Glen Powell. Discussions on the new script started late last year, but there are still several obstacles to overcome.

Puck News first reported the sequel, just days after Cruise announced a non-exclusive deal with Warner Bros. Top Gun: Maverick raked in nearly $1.5 billion USD, making it the most successful film of Cruise’s career. The action star is currently working on the eighth film in the Mission: Impossible series.
