Chopard unveils its 12th limited edition L.U.C XP Urushi

Chopard is joining the Lunar New Year celebrations by unveiling its latest L.U.C XP Urushi watch, featuring the Chinese zodiac sign of the year, the dragon. The L.U.C XP Urushi series was first introduced in 2013 with a Year of the Snake edition, and now includes all 12 zodiac signs, each adorned with traditional Japanese Maki-e lacquerwork. Each new timepiece displays a detailed dragon motif, hand-finished by master artisan Minori Koizumi, requiring at least 20 hours of work. The watch face is kept simple with only gilded Dauphine hands and a discreet Chopard logo, to highlight the decorative design.
The watch has a slim, elegant design, with a thickness of 6.8mm and a case diameter just under 40mm. It is made from 18-carat ethical rose gold, and features an in-house L.U.C 96.17 movement, visible through an open caseback, with a 65-hour power reserve.
The L.U.C XP Urushi Year of the Dragon watch is a limited edition of 88 pieces, priced at 26,600 CHF (about $31,275 USD). More details are available on Chopard’s official website.
